Questions
- What makes Mythic Beasts different from other hosting providers?
- Mythic Beasts provides hosting backed by 100% human support from technical staff based in the UK, Ireland and Spain with no virtual assistants or chatbots. The company charges sustainable no-nonsense pricing from the start with the same price for both new and existing customers, never inflating renewal prices. Open source software is at the heart of their services to prevent vendor lock-in, and they never charge transfer-out fees or make it hard to cancel.
- How long has Mythic Beasts been in business?
- Mythic Beasts was founded in 2000 and has been independently and privately owned for over 25 years. The company started as a hobby project offering shell accounts on a single shared host before growing into a full-service hosting provider.
- What hosting services does Mythic Beasts offer?
- Mythic Beasts offers managed and unmanaged VPS, dedicated servers, web and email hosting, domain registrations, DNS hosting, colocation, managed open source applications including WordPress and Nextcloud, and Raspberry Pi hosting. Services range from basic domain registrations to complex multi-site resilient hosting configurations.
- Does Mythic Beasts offer payment plans with discounts for longer terms?
- Yes, almost all services except domain registrations are available on monthly, quarterly and annual plans. Annual hosting is charged at ten times the monthly cost (two months free), and quarterly hosting is charged at 11/4 times the monthly cost (one month free per year).
- How does Mythic Beasts approach domain registration pricing?
- Mythic Beasts prices domain registrations automatically based on applying a standard margin to the price their suppliers charge, ensuring renewals typically cost the same as registration. The company never charges transfer-out fees and makes it easy to export DNS records. Prices are transparently listed on their website and changes apply to all customers from the next renewal.
