About Is It Training on Me?

Is It Training on Me? tracks AI training practices across 245 applications by analyzing company privacy policies and presenting the information in a searchable scoreboard. The site grades apps from A to F based on whether they train AI models on user data by default, whether users can disable training, and whether paid upgrades are required to opt out.
Each verdict is supported by direct quotations from archived privacy policies, dated and verified word-for-word. The site lists 107 apps that train on data by default (9 of which charge for the ability to opt out), 61 apps that do not train by default, and 77 apps whose policies do not clearly state their practices. Before publishing unfavorable grades, the site contacts companies to give them an opportunity to respond.
The site offers features including a searchable app database, a "My stack" tool to generate exposure reports for apps users actually use, a change feed tracking policy updates, and an API for data reuse. It is run by one person in the UK and funded by labeled sponsored notices at a fixed price.

Questions
- What do the grades A through F mean?
- Each app receives a grade based on whether it trains AI models on user data by default and what options users have to opt out. Grade F means the app trains on data by default with no way to refuse. Grade E means it trains by default but you can pay for a higher plan to opt out. Grade D means it trains by default but you can opt out through settings or by contacting support. Grades B and A indicate better privacy practices.
- How often are app policies checked and updated?
- The site monitors each registered policy page on a schedule and archives dated copies. A verdict that has not been rechecked within 180 days is marked as stale. The scoreboard was last built on 25 October 2026.
- What happens if a company disagrees with its grade?
- Before grades D, E or F are published, the site contacts the company at a published address with the quotation and archived copy it came from. Whatever the company replies is printed beside the entry word for word. If nothing comes back within fourteen days, the entry states the company was asked and did not reply. Grade changes only occur when the quoted clause actually changes, not because a company complains.
- Can I use this site's data and verdicts?
- Yes. The data is free to reuse with a link. Individual entries can be dropped into articles as live cards using oEmbed support by pasting the entry's address into an editor that supports oEmbed.
